Chapter 2: Dreams

How can we explore the realm of dreams?

Within the heart and the soul, each individual harbors aspirations of their own. In dreaming, we stretch the canvas of our existence, discover transformative ways to approach the world around us and our potential within it.

Asmaraloka Chapter 2: Dreams came to life from September 6-8, 2024. We showcased 34 talented artists from all over Indonesia, spanning 15 to 35 years old.

Our exhibition explored the realm of dreams. We showcased 47 works of art in an array of artistic mediums, all thematically focusing on dreams. We invited visitors to immerse themselves within the world of dreams, through interactive, hands-on activities and a digital art space. The event featured poetry readings, a captivating dance performance by young children from World Harvest, and the sale of ‘Proyek Mimpi’, a poetry book penning the dreams of children from local orphanages. Additionally, we spotlighted artworks by artists with disabilities — Perempuan Tangguh Indonesia and Oliver Wihardja — with the aim of bringing increased recognition to their work.

Supporting The Community

This chapter at Asmaraloka, we will focus on dreams. We aim to create a space where every individual’s dreams are not only nurtured but given the space to thrive, empowering the community with the platform to reach their aspirations.

We have partnered with World Harvest for the second year in a row, as well as Perempuan Tangguh Indonesia. We will be donating 100% of our profits to these organizations.

World Harvest aims to empower local communities through “education, healthcare and economic opportunities.” World Harvest also has a Sponsor a Child program that directly supports a child within impoverished communities across Indonesia, through equipping them with quality education and building character development. Asmaraloka’s profits will directly go to the support of this program, where we hope to empower these children with the resources they need to achieve their dreams.

At the exhibition, we showcased two paintings made by children with disabilities, from Perempuan Tangguh Indonesia. Perempuan Tangguh Indonesia (PTI) is an organization that focuses on empowering the disabled. They do this by helping disabled individual develop themselves and develop to become financially independent figures. The training provided includes training as a makeup artist, chef, and in the arts.

Asmarloka Chapter 2 successfully raised over $30,000 through fundraising efforts and art sales.

Our partner organization, World Harvest, received a donation of 210,000,000 IDR, supporting the education of over 140 children at Sekolah Wahana Harapan Keduang. Perempuan Tanggun Indonesia also received a donation from our funds, financially empowering local women with disabilities. Finally, the remaining funds went directly to the incredible artists who we featured in our exhibition.

During our visit to World Harvest, we were granted the opportunity to present the monetary donation to the school and spent time with the kids, sharing laughter and creativity through painting, volleyball, and fun art contests.

We would like to share our deepest gratitude to sponsors and everyone who visited our exhibition and supported our cause. Together, we are turning dreams into reality, encouraging today’s youth to reach for the stars and become whoever they dream to be.
